What is Breathwork?

Breathwork is a practice that uses breathing exercises to improve your physical and mental wellbeing. The way we breathe and our nervous system is closely linked. When we feel stressed we take slow shallow breaths, whilst when we feel relaxed we take longer and deeper breaths. 


In today's modern world many of us seem to be either stressed and overwhelmed or end up feeling numb inside. Through Breathwork I can help you to achieve more balance in your life, become more aware of your emotions, help to process and release them.  




What can Breathwork help with?


  • Reduce anxiety, stress and anger. 
  • Improve your sleep.
  • Boost your energy levels.
  • It can help you to tolerate uncomfortable feelings.
  • It can help to strengthen your lungs.
  • As it reduces your stress levels, it can help you to think with greater clarity.
  • It can help you to get in touch with your emotions and physical sensations. Consequently, you can learn how to be more in tune with your needs and live a life that is more authentic.

What will happen in your Breathwork session?

  • During your first session we will identify the goals you would like to work on and I will recommend Breathwork exercises that can help you achieve them.
  • Before doing a Breathwork practice I will describe the benefits and risks of it. This will be followed by a brief demonstration and then we will do the Breathwork exercise together. 
  • I will regularly check that you understand and are comfortable with the Breathwork exercise we will be doing.
  • During most of the Breathwork exercises we will be sitting and there is an option to lie on a yoga mat if this if preferred for a few of them.
  • For longer Breathwork practices, I will be gently guiding you through a grounding stage, before guiding you to the Breathwork practice and towards the end I will slowly guide you back into the room. There will also be time to talk about your experience of the Breathwork exercise and for us to consider how you can integrate the practice into your daily routine.
  • Personalised Breathwork practice audios will be offered to support you on your journey.
